 The Province of Mugla in southwest Turkey is the home of numerous popular resort destinations for both tourists and international property investors. The city of Mugla is the capital, but as it lies inland and the most popular locations are along the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. The province lies along the stretch of coast that touches both seas, giving it the best of both these destinations.  Mugla Province begins on the Aegean Coast north of Milas, where the Bodrum-Milas International Airport is located. It winds along the coast, including the Bodrum Peninsula and then down to Marmaris and Dalaman. The Province ends just near the village of Kalkan east of Fethiye and Ölüdeniz Bay, the famous Blue Lagoon of Turkey. With so many beautiful resorts and towns, this province has much to offer the property seeker and investor.   

The little village of Gulluk lies on the north side of Bodrum Peninsula and is fast becoming a destination resort. There are many new properties being constructed now and is a good place to look for off plan properties. It is very close to the airport, so it is convenient as well. The town lies on the Gulf of Gulluk, a popular place for yachtsmen. The village has a nice harbor and is a good place if you enjoy the sea.  

The Bodrum Peninsula and the town of Bodrum are quite popular and have been for a long time. Bodrum is one of the most well known Aegean resorts and has a lively nightlife. Farther down the coast is Marmaris and then Dalaman, where the other international airport in the province is located. A popular regional destination, Dalaman overlooks the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains. Nearby is the intriguing town of Dalyan, set on along the Dalyan River near the Iztuzu Beach.   

Farther down the Mediterranean Coast is the well known resort of Fethiye and the beach town of Calis. These resorts are nestled on a sheltered bay and have views of the water and mountains behind them. Just beyond Ölüdeniz Bay is the small village of Kalkan, with some of the most exclusive resorts in Turkey located here. 

 The weather in Mugla Province is wonderful in the summer and quite nice year round. The historic locations along the coast and in the towns and villages are some of the best in the world, and too many to keep track of.

There is so much to offer within this province, it is hard to see why you wouldn’t buy property here. The property for sale ranges from existing homes in the towns and villages to the most modern and exclusive off-plan properties. And, the prices range to fit anyone’s budget as well.  

Travel to Mugla Province is fairly easy. There are two international airports within the province, one along the Aegean Coast on the Bodrum Peninsula and one on the Mediterranean Coast at Dalaman.

The Bodrum-Milas International Airport (BJV) is one of the newer airports in Turkey, while the Dalaman Airport (DLM) is also fairly new. Both airports have direct flights daily to Istanbul, and there are a number of weekly direct and connecting flights to most major European cities. From these two airports you can reach just about anywhere in Mugla Province within an easy drive. The city of Mugla is 45 km. from the Bodrum Airport and about the same distance from Dalaman.
